Emile Gaboriau

Emile Gaboriau was a French journalist and novelist born on 9 November 1932 in the small town of Sachin, Charnete - Maritime in France. His father Charles Gabriel Gaboriau was a government official and mother was Marguerite Stephanie Gaboriau. Due to his writing interest he became secretary to a famous French novelist and dramatist Paul Feval. He was also engaged in literary work, his few novels and writing works published. In 1866 his novel L' Affaire Lerogue was published it became milestone in his career, he created a character Monsieur Lecoq got admiration, laid foundation of detective novels. Thus, truly regarded as father of modern detective novels. In a span of 13 years Goboriau wrote 21 novels and proved his brilliance. He died in Paris on 28 September 1873 in short age of 40 years, due to pulmonary apoplexy. His famous literary works - The Mistry of Orcival (Le Crime d' orcival), Monsieur Lecoq, The Count's Millions (La Vie infernale), The Slaves of Paris, (Les Esclaves de Paris), The Other People's Money (L' Argent des autres) etc.
