About the Book

Roy Blakeley’s Bee-Line Hike is an entertaining and lighthearted tale of adventure, friendship, and youthful enthusiasm. The story follows a spirited boy scout and his patrol as they set off on a hike to reach a tree they have spotted on a distant ridge. The narrative is marked by humorous situations, particularly driven by the energetic and exaggerated antics of one of the scouts, which add comic relief to their journey. The boys’ banter and playful debates about their scouting duties enhance the lively and adventurous tone of the story. As they set out on their “bee-line hike,” they encounter a series of obstacles that test their resolve, but their humor and determination help them navigate through these challenges. Their collective efforts underscore the values of camaraderie and teamwork, while the comic situations they face highlight the carefree nature of their exploration and love for adventure. The book captures the essence of youthful curiosity and the joy of embarking on a mission with friends, celebrating both the fun and the lessons learned along the way.
